The
Jacksonville Dixie Blues are entering
their sixth season in women's professional football. They have enjoyed
a successful past and look forward to an exciting future. During the inaugural
season in 2001, the Dixie Blues won the Atlantic Coast Conference and advanced
to the first annual World Bowl in San Diego, California, where they fell
to the California Quake, a veteran team from Los Angeles.
The Dixie Blues' second season was just as exciting and even more successfully
than the first. The Dixie Blues over-powered the Atlantic Coast Conference
winning all but one of its games. Again, the Dixie Blues advanced to
the World Bowl, this time in Birmingham, Alabama. There, the Dixie Blues
crushed the Indianapolis Vipers 68-20 and were crowned the 2002-2003
National Champions.
The Dixie Blues joined the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL)
during its third and fourth seasons. After playing through the 2004 season
as an exhibition team with no playoff opportunities, the Dixie Blues
played the Atlanta Xplosion in the first round of the 2005 playoffs.
We were excited to enter the fifth season in the Women's Football League
(WFL) to continue a tradition of excellence. The teams we were facing
included, Tennessee Heat, Kentucky Force, and The Mississippi Rapids. We
remained undefeated during 2006 and went on to become the 2006 Superior
Bowl Champions!
The Jacksonville Dixe Blues went
to the playoffs against Clarksville. The team played hard and demolished
Clarksville in the end. The
winning score of 49-6 secured the Jacksonville Dixie Blues the right
of becoming the 2007 Superior Bowl Champions.

Coaches
Corner Donnie Braddock enters his sixth year as The Dixie
Blues head coach. In 2000, he assisted the Jacksonville Tomcats
arena football team and worked with the defensive backs. Donnie
feels that he has become a better coach since taking on a "girls
football" team. He chalks this up to the challenge of working
with elite athletes and teaching them a new game at a high level
of execution. Even though Donnie is dealing with tremendous athletes,
he has to consider every mental thought and teach every skill
to develop a strong foundation for a good football team.
As
quoted by Donnie Braddock: "I would like to thank all
of the fans for their support and attendance. I know that after
you see these girls play, you will have had the opportunity to
enjoy a wonderful group of skilled athletes. You will be enthralled
and amazed at the ability of these girls who have adapted their
ability to the game of football. I am glad that you, the fans,
had the opportunity to see the Jacksonville Dixie Blues."
